WhatsApp is already testing money transfers between its users. So far, the feature is only available in the trial version of the app in India and does not allow transactions between individuals and legal entities. The function is compatible with applications for Android and iPhone (iOS). It is not yet known whether the new feature will be released to Brazilian users.
Facebook, the company that owns WhatsApp, received authorization from the Indian government in July 2017 to carry out this type of operation Phone Number List through the so-called Unified Payments Interface. The resource already has integration with four banks in the country.
Although information about the new WhatsApp tool has been circulating in the international press for more than a year, only now have the first images of the working system started to appear on the internet.
The feature can be found in the messenger settings menu. To use it for the first time, it is necessary to verify the phone number via SMS and select the banking institution. Once configured, the tool integrates the same app menu where there are options for sharing photos, videos, files, contacts and location.

It is worth remembering that this is not the first action by Facebook in this regard. Facebook Messenger already allows transactions between users in some countries around the world. In Brazil, the resource is still limited to sending money to accounts abroad, a process carried out with the help of the TransferWise service. The function is in English and does not allow transfers in reais, only in other currencies, such as the US dollar and the euro.
